September 2010 brings the Montpellier American International section to junior high school level

September 2010 brings the Montpellier
American International section to junior high school level

Dear Members, friends, supporters,

Last year we were thrilled to announce the opening of the American section at Lycée Jules Guesde in Montpellier. This decision was a true reward for your years of support and efforts for this educational project (which is now going very well). Partnerships are currently under discussion between a New York City high school and the Montpellier high school.

Today, we again have great news to share with all the supporters of English language education in Montpellier: the local Board of Education has officially announced the opening of the American section at junior high school level in September 2010.
Just as we did before, IEAM Outbound is collecting the names and coordinates of students interested in entering this international option in Collège.Pupils entering 6e (6th grade) or 4e (8th grade) next year and willing to be in the American section are invited to complete and return the attached pre-registration form to ieam-outbound@wanadoo.fr  (or mail hard copies to 140 rue de Jausserand, 34000 Montpellier) ASAP, please. Before the end of March, we will communicate this information to the directors of Collège Camille Claudel.
Reminder: no nationality criteria needs to be met to enter the international section. Admission will result from a selective process based on an English test and general student qualifications.Feel free to transfer this information to anyone likely to be interested.  Click here for more details on international sections: http://www.fdei.org/#FR&hp.

Thank you again for your contribution to this success.

With best regards,
Nathalie Modjeska

Hi Wendy,

I was intrigued to read about the American section opened up in one of the schools in Montpellier but I am very unsure as to what it means?

We are a British family who have lived in the US for the past 4 years and have lived in France for the last 6 months.

My eldest boy was nearly 18 when we arrived and would have been in his final year at High School. At this time he is not in school but is desperate to complete his high school diploma so that he can move on to Higher Education.
We are considering registering him for a homeschooling programme with the University of Texas to enable him to complete it. HOWEVER, I was wondering if the new American section you talk about could offer him a programme for graduation?

Sorry for being so long winded but I wanted to give you all the background ! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

Jacqueline

Hello,

I have a bilingual child who will be entering 6ème next year in Montpellier. I would really appreciate hearing from parents who have their children in the new international english section at Collège Camille Claudel this year to know what you think of the experience so far.
Thank you so much
